Missionary to International Students
Vision for Ministry
Todd Martin is Ashland Avenue Baptist Church’s missionary to international students. His seeks to lead the church in reaching the nations that God has brought to Central Kentucky in the form of international students, visiting scholars, and refugees with Christ-like hospitality and the gospel of Christ.
Family
Todd’s wife is Anca who, at one time, was an international student herself from Romania. Together, they have three daughters, Clarissa (born 1/08), Julianna (born 7/09) and Annesse (12/11).
Testimony
Todd is originally from Colorado Springs, where he was introduced to the teachings of Christ, and where he learned of his need for forgiveness and peace with God. As a 10-year-old boy, he was challenged by the thought of what God would say to him in judgment, and turned to Christ for forgiveness, committing his life to Him. Todd spent his youth and college years in Longwood, Florida, where he was discipled and ministered to by the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater.
Ministry
Todd began his involvement in campus ministry as a student with the BCM at the University of Florida and grew as a missionary after graduation through his experience as a journeyman in Ukraine. Todd came to Kentucky to study at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001 and has worked with international students in this state ever since.
