Michelle Manning

Administrative Assistant

When did you come to Ashland and what brought you?

June, 1994 I wanted to get back into full-time Christian service. I had taught school for 8 years in Christian Schools but had left teaching and worked at a Teacher supply store for 3 years. At a young age I committed my life to full-time Christian service and I knew that I needed to get back to doing what the Lord wanted me to do.

What is the best thing about working at Ashland?

The Staff and the People of Ashland Avenue. I appreciate the staff because they are what they preach and the people are committed to serving the Lord and both are such a great example to me to do the same.

What is your craziest experience working at Ashland?

The craziest and best experience was meeting my husband. He came to Ashland Avenue Baptist Church to visit our singles class. He wanted to get to know other singles with which he could fellowship. During the Sundays that he visited I was never in Sunday School because I was in the vestibule signing people up for some event or I was doing some job. I finally got to Sunday School and we were able to talk. Then I ended up the next few weeks in the vestibule again. He began to think that if he was going to be able to talk to me, he was going to have to go to the vestibule. I finally got to class the same times that he visited and after a while we started to date. He tells people if he had been able to get me out of the vestibule we would have gotten married sooner!
