Pastor Nate

Pastor Nate is the pastor of music and worship at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church.

Nate BeVier grew up on a small farm in Pataskala, Ohio, east of Columbus. In his younger years he developed a love for God’s creation and enjoyed spending as much time as possible hunting, fishing, camping, backpacking, and canoeing. It was during one such camping trip with his church that he came to know Christ as Savior. Although he had heard the gospel many times prior to this occasion, he was finally gripped with the reality that Christ died for him. On that night, he became a child of God by repenting of his sins and placing his faith in the all-sufficient sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

In high school, Nate was called into full time ministry service, and while serving in churches and various youth organizations, he began to develop a passion to lead people in God-centered worship. With a passion for God’s Word and a passion to lead worship, he decided to attend Cedarville University to pursue a degree in Bible while minoring in Church Music. Immediately following graduation, Nate married his long-time sweetheart, Jenille, and the two of them moved to Louisville, Kentucky where Nate attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. At seminary, he desired a good balance of foundational Bible teaching and relevant musical training so he enrolled in the school of Worship. He graduated with a Master of Arts in Worship in December of 2004.

In February of 2004, Ashland Avenue Baptist Church called Nate BeVier to become their Music Pastor. Since then Pastor Nate has celebrated the births of his two sons, Jeremiah (4/06) and Judah (6/07). Pastor Nate brings an understanding of Theology and a passion to use the gift of music to honor God and edify the body. Utilizing a wide variety of musical styles, he is committed to leading the church in God-centered, Christ-exalting, Word-driven worship.
