Looking Unto Jesus Stewardship Celebration April 25th 6:00 p.m.  (Make your reservations here)

Ashland Avenue Baptist Church has always been a church that sacrificially gives.  I consistently hear amazing stories of how saints from days gone by chose to give up personal comforts to make sure the vision of this church moved forward.  Some of these folks will be sitting next to you this morning in worship.  You should thank God for them!

Even in recent days, God has been moving through the sacrificial gifts of our people. Over the last 3 years we gave 1.3 million dollars toward our building fund.  God also provided in other amazing ways so that we could get our building debt of approximately 6 million dollars down to 3.2 million dollars.  Wow!

After only being in this Great Commission Center for 2 years we have already paid off half of our building debt. This is something to celebrate!  Celebrate is what we will do on April 25th at our Stewardship Celebration.

Along with celebrating our history of sacrificial giving, we also want to look to the future.  We want to make sure our building debt is paid off in way that allows us to continue to do effective ministry.  Above all, we must continue to reach Lexington and the world with the gospel.  So we must realize stewardship and missions are connected.   We cannot fulfill our mission as a Great Commission Center without giving to our building debt.  But neither can we pay off our building debt without fulfilling our mission.  On April 25th we will consider what this means for all of us.

I hope you will join us on April 25th for a wonderful time of celebration and reflection as we look to the future.  The meal for the evening will be catered.  Child care will be available for infants through elementary age children.  The evening will be full of amazing testimonies and state of the art media.  You will not want to miss out on what is in store!

There will also be a special offering taken up on this evening that will go toward our building fund. Begin praying about what you and your family will give in this special evening of celebration!
